Michelle from This Little Light

Meet one of my amazing awesome September Sponsors!!! Oh and just thought I would let you know 10 days til my cruise... haha

____________________________________________________

Hey there, peeps!

My name is Michelle, and I blog over at this little light: embracing the joy in the everyday. I'm absolutely tickled to be guest posting today at The Life Of A Not So Ordinary Wife. Since we're just now meeting each other, I thought I'd take this opportunity to really introduce myself, so you'll get a glimpse of the person you'll find if you click on over. {And you will click over, won't you? C'mon. Be a sport.}

Here's who I am:

  • I'm a gal of average height, with brown hair and big blue eyes. I get a lot of Don't I know you from somewhere? but it's never because I've met those people before. I've got one of those familiar faces that looks just like the chick who talked you up in the Target line last week. Wait ... that actually could've been me.
  • I love coffee, Cary Grant movies, Oreos, coffee, the smell of grass being cut and anything related to fall, WWII heroes, coffee, laundry on a line {even though I'm actually too lazy to hang it}, cleaning {yes, I have issues}, cocktails {hydrating's for sissies}, Barnes and Noble, wrapping presents, Hip Hop exercise classes {even though I look ridiculous}, and coffee.

Here's what I believe:
  • I believe that America should run on God and Dunkins. Amen to that.
  • I believe that women are amazing creatures. Strong, determined, survivors, and all the while caring for those around them {if they're doing it right, that is}.
  • Men are pretty darned cool too.
  • I believe that simple joys are the best joys, and they surround us every day.
  • I believe that tofu is not a food.
  • I believe everyone should have their birthday off.
  • And I believe in you, even if you don't believe what I believe.
I also believe that women should share their journey in the spirit of helping others. You never know who's walking a road you once walked, and whose burden you might ease a bit with your words.

I began blogging in 2010 because I'd hit my own personal rock bottom. I'd given birth six years before to the two most beautiful little girls, both of whom were born too soon {only 5 months into my pregnancy} and did not survive. It tore me apart, but I did my best to move on. Two years later, my son was born: he was the most precious boy whom I now call "Bug," but the hurt inside continued to grow.

It wasn't until I let it all out {in real life and through the blog} that the pain started to dwindle. Speaking your truth is freeing, and if it's done in an effort to heal the wounds {as opposed to wallowing}, it's something that can help others, too. At this little light, I share my story, speak to how the little things in life can sustain us, and provide resources for those who may regrettably be walking that same road I have. Oh, and occasionally I rant.

And that—in a very small nutshell—is me. Won't you come over my way and introduce yourself? I'd love to get to know you, too.

Especially if you like coffee.

That is exactly why I started blogging after my divorce. It feels so good to connect with people and know that your not alone in this world. For what its worth I believe in you also.
