Disney Week Day 6

While I am away this week on the disney cruise, this entire week will be filled with Disney Stories from some amazing bloggers! So make sure to come back and get your disney fix for the week! You can find my cruise itinerary and all the specifics on this post I wrote here.

The ship is scheduled to stop in Ensenada, Mexico today. We are not sure if we want to get off and do a little shopping or not, we might just stay on the ship and relax more but we will definitely play this port by ear.

And here is the Disney Story for today:

Hello, everyone! I'm Veralynn from Joie de V, and I'm so happy to share my Disney story with you all as Melissa is on her Disney cruise this week! I had been to Disneyland only two times before I met my husband, Parker. Little did I know just how much more I'd become acquainted with everything Disney and the- wait for it- magical role Disneyland would play in our relationship. Disneyland was where Parker took me the day he asked me to be his girlfriend (buying me an Annual Pass was the sign of serious commitment as far as he was concerned). We watched the fireworks that night and I was so happy and excited to see where our relationship would go. Over the next months we visited more times than I could count- those little day trips down the coast were some of the best times to just talk and have a great time together.

In early December of 2009, we were at Disneyland walking around after a long day of seeing the newly added Christmas decorations and riding our customary three rides (Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and whatever had the shortest line- if the wait is longer than twenty minutes I'm outta there and eating a pretzel on Main Street). We were meandering past the wishing well and found ourselves on a pretty little bridge just to the left of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. As Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" played in the background, Parker stopped, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife! It was so perfect and I'll never forget that moment. That night, we watched the fireworks and my heart was so full of love for my husband-to-be.

Fast forward nearly three years later and we still have a soft spot in our hearts for Disneyland. We even set our son's nursery theme as "Adventureland" and we're looking forward to taking Miles on his first Disneyland trip in a few days. I know Parker can't wait to show him everything, even though Miles won't remember this trip. I can't wait to watch the fireworks with my little family and know that it's the first of many Disney memories together!
