Another Day at Sea aboard the Disney Wonder :)
And here is the Disney Story for today:
Hi everyone! I'm Carrie, and my blog is My Favorite Finds. It's a place where you'll find a little bit of everything-Recipes, Craft Tutorials, Home Organization, and Disney Travel Tips. I even write for the Disney planning site, Chip & Co. So, when Melissa put a call out for Disney travel posts, I was all over it! Today I'm sharing with you some fun ways to start the Disney magic before even leaving home.
Planning a Disney vacation brings so much excitement, anticipation, and details. Every year for our Disney trip, I make a countdown for our family. It's super simple, and easy to make. For ours, I used paint chips, Disney scrapbook paper, Disney ribbon, and some small clothespins. I wrote a fun Disney fact on one side of the paint chip and the number on the back. Each day, the kids took turns turning the number over, reading the fact, and watching our countdown turn from numbers to facts. Before we knew it, it was time to go!
While turning the days on the countdown, the kids got a fun small surprise-Disney themed of course- to open. Leading up to our trip, I had hit the Dollar Store and the Target Dollar Spot, as well as some more expensive things, to build up the Disney magic. I made some Mickey heads out of scrapbook paper, glued them on the front of yellow gift bags, and these are what they opened to reveal their surprise. Some suggestions for these are: Disney PJs, Disney coloring books and word search books, Disney Pez Dispensers, etc. I have a bigger list HERE, as well as a tutorial for making the bags.
Disney has so many fun things to do with your family, that you won't want to miss any of it! Part of the fun is reliving the trip when you get home. That's why I make Disney Travel Journals each year for the kids. The questions are easy, and fun to read later. With Disney scrapbook stickers, the journals are easy to customize and fun to make.

If you have questions about planning a Disney trip, please, please don't hesitate to email me. I LOVE helping others and answering Disney related questions.
