Let's Have a Chat. Ya?

Today is one of the rare occasions that I don't have anything planned on the blog. Weird... At least for me, so I thought maybe I would use the time to just catch up or kind of tell all you readers a little more about me.

I am stretched thin across multiple areas. One being the ministry. My parents are pastors at a church in Vallejo, ca. As I posted here before, Vallejo is rough, real rough and 3 years ago when we moved here from uppity Napa, Ca it was a huge change. 30 minutes away but they literally could not be farther apart from each other. We spent roughly 8-9 years in Napa helping my uncle pastor a church and my dad was the youth pastor. We loved it. 5 teens started the youth group and 7 years later we were running hundreds of teens every week. Such a fun time in our lives. So when we felt God calling us to start a church in Vallejo we had to start from scratch and well we're still here getting the "foundation" years under our belts, but we know God is going to send people our way and we are excited about the future.

I wish you could meet my family... Only because when hear "pastor" you think of an old school, religious, far fetched from reality character, but that is completely opposite from my family. My dad is THE coolest pastor you will ever meet. The teens love him, he walks into the room and starts off by saying "yo dawg". My dad treats people as people who just need love. Especially in the city we are in, person after person walks through the church doors and you just never know who you are going to get. People needing food, clothes, a place to stay, a ride, just story after story of people needing hope and love. They need someone to just give them a chance. Our church is filled with people who most would turn away, most wouldn't even think twice about but because my dad gave them a chance they are living life, thriving day by day, having a reason to live. I have to smile just writing that last sentence because I wouldn't have it any other way.

What does a week in my shoes look like? I work 3 days a week at my dads church doing all of the office work including finances, website, all printed material and on and on and on. Haha I couldn't give you a schedule of what I do because it's so random sometimes. My husband is also the worship leader so we have practice once a week and then do Sunday Morning Worship. I then work 1 day a week at another church doing their website and printed materials. The other 2 days a week I am at home catching up on the blog and also trying to be a good wife by cleaning the house. HA, Who am I kidding? I have an issue with breaking away from blogging to clean lol.

So ya, that's a little more about me. I live a busy life, and my husband works a lot mostly 10 hour days, 6 days a week, so when I get to see him in the evenings I tried to enjoy every minute I get. I also love that he is very involved with church, and I am so honored to be singing and playing bass for him on the worship team. He plays guitar and he is so talented and has such a gift!! We just recently got our big Mac fixed so as I am typing he is setting up his new studio and messing around with the guitar. So who know, you will probably hear some recording of us soon!

I posted on twitter Saturday that my husband has a week off in September and we were thinking about going on a cruise! We are pretty sure we are going on the Disney Cruise 7 day California Coastal but are not for sure yet, so cross your fingers for me because I really want to go!! The cool thing is that 7 years ago we took our honeymoon on the exact same boat, Disney Wonder, so it would be cool to kind of re-live that again!! haha yay!

I didn't think I had a lot to write about but when I sit down and just type A LOT came out haha. Thanks for just chatting with me, it was fun :) Until Next Time...

I love churches and people who just want to love on people! Especially the hurt people that most wouldn't even give a second glance.

Oh girl, I knew I liked you. Fellow Pastor's wife right here. And a Californian too. (Though God has us in Roatan right now, I am a CA native) Thanks for telling us more about you and your ministry! xoxo

Your Dad sounds pretty awesome. I am so glad there are people like you and your family out there to bring hope to people. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to move to a rough area after all that work was put in somewhere else.
