I am such a playful, goofy person.
I get bored being normal and serious all the time.
I honestly don't know
how some people do it! I like to keep things interesting.
And what better way to share this with you then to talk a little bit about what
brings the kid out in me.
Camp. No, not like camping. Summer camp.
Like where you send your kids for a week because they are driving you up
the wall
being home from school 24/7. The place where kids get to be themselves
and
not have to worry about being bullied by that mean kid in their class.
The place where
every meal consists of chicken nuggets, spaghetti or hot dogs.
Camp.

Let's all wear mustaches. Because that instantly makes things more fun.

I have been a camp counselor for the past six years. 6 summers, 3 springs
and 2 falls.
Yeah, I kinda like it. I get paid to hang out with kids all day.
My main job is being a kayak instructor, but I am also pretty skilled at
rock climbing,
archery, canoeing, sleep-outs and poo jokes.
In my time as a camp counselor,
I have dressed up as a pirate, a cowgirl,
a space-thing, an aerobics instructor
{with my best New Yawk accent},
Elmo, an elephant, and many more crazy,
ridiculous things.
Getting to be a kid when I'm 20 years old is the greatest time ever.

You know what the other best thing ever is?
When you see kids get to be kids.
There is so much pressure in school now to be the cool guy,
or the super
pretty girl that has the cool clothes and that fancy new lunch bag.
You know what? There's more to life.
And kids learn that at camp.
Seeing the shy boy make friends with everyone..
best thing ever. My life is complete.
Or the girl that's dead scared of getting up
in front of a crowd being the lead role in a skit?
My life is complete times 2.
Seriously, ladies and gentlemen.
Send your children to camp.
Because I'll be there to hang out with them.
And we will dress up in robot costumes and have water fights.
Sometimes kids need that.
And sometimes, they need to be kids too.

My best friend has been a camp counselor for I don't even know how long. She's a lifeguard and does ropes and always has the most fun stories.
Yay! It is honestly the most rewarding/most fun job possible, I swear! I love doing ropes as well, that's one of my faves but I didn't mention it cause most of the time people are like what the heck is ropes? hahaha :)
It sounds like we have a lot in common, including our names! I'll make sure to check out your blog :)
