Sewing, Sewing, and More Sewing!

Well when it comes to starting new projects I kind of always go all out... Thats just the way I am, I give everything 110%. So with that being said here are some of my projects I have done and/or started within the past month of getting my sewing machine.

My first project ever was an apron, and for being my first project I think I did pretty good!

Here is my husband modeling the apron: haha

Next I wanted to make something for my niece so I took a little owl pincushion pattern I found online and made this little "stuffed owl" for her: (this project was quite difficult because of all the small pieces but it was good practice.

Then I made some really easy curtains for the guest bedroom. Super cheap too, only $8 because of the $2 a yard fabric at walmart!

I went to Joann's the other day and picked up this great book on quilting! Its for people who know absolutely nothing about quilting, like me. It explains everything very well and even gives several step by step tutorials for some quilts.

So to start quilting I decided to keep it easy and start with pre-cut fabric squares that way I can concentrate on putting the quilt together and not spend a lot of time cutting fabric. I also decided to keep it small. My room is jungle theme so I went for an animal print. I will post pictures when I'm done and let you know how it went!

So that is basically ALL I have been up to lately...!

Christmas is Here!

Awwww my absolute favorite time of the year... Love everything about this Christmas Season. We started the season off with a family trip to Disneyland. It was all decorated and all the holiday parades and snow and fireworks, seriously amazing! Right when we got back from disneyland I picked up my Christmas Tree!

And then of course with my new sewing machine I sewed me and my husband some blue stockings to match the tree! I think I did pretty good besides the fact that I did the top part inside out twice haha... Ya ripping seams out takes a lot of patience.

I then made my christmas wreath. Now I made a fall one a few months ago and I apparently did NOT remember how long it took to wrap the ribbon around lol because about 4 hours into it, I'm getting pretty tired. But in the end it was worth it. And super cheap since I picked up the yarn at a garage a while back and then the wreath was only $3 and the decors on top were on sale for 33 cents each!

A lot of work decorating but I LOVE it!
